AI Operations & Strategy Engineer
Location: Remote (South Africa)
About The Role
We are seeking an AI Operations & Strategy Engineer to lead the adoption, governance, and optimisation of AI/LLM solutions. Reporting to senior technical leadership, you will be responsible for ensuring AI systems are cost-efficient, ethical, and aligned with business goals.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage and refine prompt engineering strategies.
• Monitor and optimise AI resource usage and costs.
• Develop evaluation frameworks to ensure reliable AI outputs.
• Train and enable internal teams on AI best practices.
• Contribute to the AI product roadmap and future features.
  

Requirements

• Proven experience in AI engineering or machine learning operations.
• Expertise in prompt engineering and model optimisation.
• Knowledge of AI/ML APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini).
• Experience building evaluation frameworks for AI quality.
• Strong documentation and collaboration skills.
• Programming experience in Python is a plus.
