We’re looking for a Senior Android Developer for our Pharmacy Digital Web & Mobile team. You will use your expertise developing native Android applications using Kotlin to help our customers connect with the Publix Pharmacy from their smartphones or other devices.
Responsibilities
- Rapidly prototype and explore new concepts.
- Design and implement new customer-facing features.
- Recommend and implement the team’s digital strategy on the Android platform.
- Oversee and ensure a secure application on the Android platform.
- Implement A/B tests to understand the impact and adoption of new features.
- Manage app configuration necessary to support Android users.
- Ensure system availability, scalability, and reliability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related analytical field or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience developing Android applications using Kotlin.
- 3+ years of experience building modern Android UI using Jetpack Compose.
- 3+ years of experience with asynchronous programming using Kotlin Coroutines and Flow.
- 3+ years of experience with Android architecture patterns such as MVVM and clean architecture principles.
- 3+ years of experience with REST API integration and networking libraries.
- 3+ years of experience with Git, Gradle, and Android Studio.
- 3+ years of experience writing maintainable, testable, and scalable code.
- Understanding of Android app lifecycle, state management, and performance optimization.
- 7+ years of experience developing Android applications using Kotlin.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with dependency injection frameworks such as Hilt or Dagger.
- Experience with unit testing and UI testing frameworks.
- Experience with Firebase services (Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config, Push Notifications).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for Android mobile applications.
- Experience publishing and supporting applications in the Google Play Store.
- Experience migrating or modernizing legacy Android applications.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including QA, Product, and Design.
