Enterprise Data Architect – Azure & Lakehouse Platforms

POSITION DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an Enterprise Data Architect – Azure & Lakehouse Platforms to design and evolve the enterprise data architecture aligned with business and technology strategy. This role will define Azure-based lakehouse architecture, lead modernization initiatives, and establish enterprise standards for data governance, modeling, integration, and analytics.
The ideal candidate has deep expertise in Azure data platforms, enterprise ERP/CRM integrations, and scalable data architectures that support operational reporting, analytics, and AI/ML initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain the enterprise data architecture aligned with business objectives and technical strategy.
- Define and implement Azure-based lakehouse architecture including ingestion, storage, transformation, modeling, governance, and consumption layers.
- Establish reference architectures, standards, and best practices for data integration, analytics, and reporting.
- Lead enterprise data modernization initiatives and long-term platform evolution.
- Architect and optimize data integrations across NetSuite, SAP, Salesforce, internal systems, and third-party data sources.
- Design scalable and reliable data pipelines using Azure services, Fabric, Snowflake, Delta Lake, Databricks, or equivalent technologies.
- Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models across enterprise domains.
- Lead Master Data Management (MDM), metadata management, data cataloging, and lineage initiatives.
- Establish enterprise data quality frameworks, validation standards, and governance controls.
- Partner with Security and Compliance teams to ensure privacy, protection, and regulatory adherence.
- Translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable data designs.
- Mentor data engineers and analysts, promoting architectural excellence across the organization.
Required Qualifications
- 7–12+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise architecture roles.
- Deep expertise in Azure analytics stack (Data Lake, Azure Synapse/Fabric, Snowflake, Delta Lake, Databricks, etc.).
- Strong understanding of ERP and CRM data flows, particularly NetSuite, SAP, and Salesforce.
- Experience designing enterprise data lakes, data warehouses, and lakehouse architectures.
- Advanced data modeling expertise (conceptual, logical, and physical).
- Strong knowledge of MDM, metadata management, lineage, and governance frameworks.
- Experience with modern ETL/ELT patterns and enterprise integration tools.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with distributed compute frameworks (Spark preferred).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- Travel may be required up to 10%, depending on business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing AI/ML data architectures on Azure or Databricks.
- Background supporting finance, operations, manufacturing, or ERP-driven environments.
- Experience with API-based and event-driven data integrations.
- Relevant certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Data Engineer, TOGAF, or Salesforce/Azure integration certifications.
- Solar Industry experience (Renewable).
