Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Azure Cloud Architect to lead the design and implementation of a scalable, secure, and high-performing Azure ecosystem from the ground up. This role is ideal for someone who has hands-on experience building cloud environments from scratch and can drive cloud strategy, governance, and best practices across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement a greenfield Azure environment aligned with business and technical goals
• Define and build the Azure cloud ecosystem, including networking, security, identity, compute, and storage
• Establish cloud governance frameworks, policies, and cost optimization strategies
• Design landing zones, subscriptions, and resource hierarchies following best practices
• Lead infrastructure-as-code (IaC) implementations using tools like ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices using Azure DevOps or similar tools
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning
• Collaborate with engineering, security, and business teams to align cloud architecture with enterprise needs
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to cloud and DevOps teams
• Evaluate and integrate Azure-native and third-party services into the ecosystem

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of IT experience with at least 4+ years focused on Microsoft Azure
• Proven experience building Azure environments from scratch (greenfield)
• Deep expertise in:
• Azure Architecture (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
• Azure Networking (VNet, NSG, VPN, ExpressRoute)
• Identity & Access Management (Azure AD / Entra ID)
• Security & Compliance (Azure Security Center, Defender)
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, or Bicep)
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps / CI-CD pipelines
• Knowledge of cloud governance, cost management, and FinOps practices
• Experience designing highly available and scalable systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Azure certifications such as:
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments
• Background in enterprise-scale migrations or transformations
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes / AKS)
• Experience in regulated industries (Finance, Healthcare, etc.)

• Strategic thinker with hands-on execution capability
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment aligned to EST hours
