Position Overview
Simply Youth Institute is seeking a creative, organized, and mission-driven Social Media Manager to help amplify our impact and engage our growing community of supporters, mentors, students, donors, and partners.
The Social Media Manager will lead the planning, creation, and management of digital content across multiple platforms while helping tell the stories of the young adults we serve. This role is ideal for someone passionate about youth empowerment, nonprofit storytelling, community engagement, and social impact.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a social media content calendar.
- Create engaging posts, graphics, reels, stories, and short-form videos.
- Manage and grow SYI's presence on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other relevant platforms.
- Collaborate with staff, interns, students, and community partners to capture stories and program highlights.
- Promote workshops, events, fundraising campaigns, volunteer opportunities, and community initiatives.
- Monitor engagement and respond to comments and messages in a timely and professional manner.
- Track social media analytics and provide monthly performance reports.
- Assist with email newsletter content and digital storytelling efforts.
- Ensure all content aligns with SYI's mission, values, and brand voice.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing social media accounts for nonprofits, businesses, schools, or community organizations.
- Strong writing and storytelling skills.
- Experience with Canva, Adobe Express, or similar design tools.
- Experience creating short-form video content (Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts).
- Understanding of social media trends and audience engagement strategies.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Passion for supporting young adults and strengthening communities.
- Photography and video editing experience is a plus.

Time Commitment

Compensation
This position is currently offered as a volunteer or internship opportunity with the potential for future stipend-based compensation as funding becomes available.
