About Niche

Niche is the leader in school search. Our mission is to make researching and enrolling in schools easy, transparent, and free. With in-depth profiles on every school and college in America, 140 million reviews and ratings, and powerful search tools, we help millions of people find the right school for them. We also help thousands of schools recruit more best-fit students, by highlighting what makes them great and making it easier to visit and apply.

Niche is all about finding where you belong, and that mission inspires how we operate every day. We want Niche to be a place where people truly enjoy working and can thrive professionally.

About The Role

From where to live to where to learn, Niche helps millions of students and families make some of life’s biggest decisions. Social is one of the most direct ways we build trust, show up in culture, and stay relevant to those audiences. This role is responsible for doing so exceptionally well.

As our Senior Social Media Manager, you'll lead organic social strategy across our B2C channels (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and more) and B2B presence on LinkedIn, with an eye on wherever attention is shifting next. You'll work in close partnership with our Head of Content to set direction, and you'll have the creative and strategic latitude to build something worth following.

What You Will Do

Strategy & Ownership

Own Niche's organic social strategy across B2C and B2B channels, developing and implementing platform-specific approaches that grow our brand and move our business forward

Partner with the Head of Content to align social with broader content, brand, and business goals to ensure social is integrated into campaigns, product launches, partner building strategies, and key company moments

Define and lead our ambassador, influencer, and community strategies: identifying the right partners, managing contracts, budgets, and briefs, and building ongoing connections with key audiences across platforms

Monitor emerging channels, audience behaviors, new platform features, and algorithm changes to make proactive recommendations on where and how Niche should show up next

Content & Execution

Lead content ideation and production, working individually as well as with internal teams and external creators to deliver content that's high-quality, on-brand, culturally relevant, and built to resonate on each platform

Be Niche's ears on the ground. Proactively surface what you're seeing in communities and conversations, pitching fresh content ideas and translating trends and signals into usable insights for broader brand and marketing efforts

Drive the biweekly content planning cycle across Lifecycle, B2B, and Comms/Content teams, and develop SOPs that keep content creation, publishing, testing, and community engagement consistent and scalable

Testing & Optimization

Spot trends early, and run structured test-and-learn pilots

Own performance tracking for organic social; moving fluidly between quantitative data and qualitative signals to surface what's working, what's not, and what to do next

AI, Search, & Discoverability

Stay current on how AI tools and LLM-powered search are shaping brand discovery as well as how brands like Niche get found and cited, and how social can influence those outcomes

Lead experimentation with new formats, workflows, and approaches that leverage AI to increase speed, quality, and impact

What We Are Looking For

7–9 years of hands-on social media experience, ideally in-house for a brand or organization

Full-cycle experience owning content calendars, creator relationships, and platform strategy end-to-end

Proven ability to make complex, stressful, and opaque categories feel human, relatable, and worth following

Strong analytical instincts: you read performance data, identify what matters, make a clear case for what to do next, and understand how paid and organic work together

Sharp copywriting skills, a genuine ear for brand voice and audience nuance, and the editorial judgment to know the difference between what's trending and what's worth doing
