PAY RATEistration                           $20/hour

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Dean’s AI Innovation Intern will play a hands-on role in advancing Babson’s “All In on AI” strategy by supporting projects that impact academic and administrative operations across the Undergraduate School. This role is ideal for a curious, entrepreneurial student eager to explore emerging technologies and their real-world applications in higher education.

The intern will collaborate with staff partners who are actively exploring AI innovation in support of teaching, learning, and student services. Through this experience, the intern will help shape how AI is explored, adopted, and operationalized across Babson while building a portfolio that demonstrates initiative, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Conduct discovery and research by reviewing background materials, exploring existing tools, and meeting with Project and Business Leads

Design an MVP (minimum viable product) for assigned AI innovation projects, including scoping, approach, and key features

Develop and refine AI-enabled tools, prototypes, or workflows that support academic and administrative operations

Test solutions, gather feedback from stakeholders, and iterate based on results

Collaborate closely with Project Leads and Business Leads to validate solutions and refine deliverables

Document current uses of generative and agentic AI within Undergraduate School operations

Identify gaps and opportunities where AI tools could be applied effectively and responsibly

Provide regular progress updates, including participation in biweekly in-person meetings

Assume additional responsibilities as required to support project momentum and learning outcomes

YOUR TEAM WILL INCLUDE

Directors and Associate Directors in the Undergraduate School, specifically on the Experiential Learning and Career Development teams.

WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED

Must have strong computer skills including proficiency in Google Drive/Docs and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook/Calendar).

HOW AND WHERE YOU WILL WORK

This is a hybrid position. In-person work is expected, particularly at the beginning of the internship for onboarding, training, and relationship-building. Remote work is permitted only while the intern is physically located in the United States and in one of Babson’s approved states.

Weekly hours are expected to average 20 hours per week for approximately 8 weeks, with some flexibility depending on project needs. Schedule, attendance, and hybrid expectations will be determined in partnership with the supervisor and project leads.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS YOU MAY HAVE

Familiarity with generative AI tools or agent-based systems

Experience with prototyping, dashboards, or workflow documentation

Interest in higher education innovation or academic operations

Ability to translate complex ideas into practical solutions
