IT Security Analyst
VirtualVocationsSupporting the university's Cybersecurity Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) team, the full-time IT Security Analyst will assist in strengthening cybersecurity controls, preparing for security audits, and advancing compliance initiatives focused on NIST 800-171 and CMMC requirements in a hybrid work environment. Key responsibilities: Support the execution of NIST readiness initiatives by conducting security assessments and implementing security controls aligned with NIST 800-171 standards Collaborate with various university departments to integrate cybersecurity practices into organizational risk management efforts and enhance security policies Develop and deliver security awareness and training programs to promote compliance and security knowledge across the organization Required qualifications: 3 years of experience in information security, cybersecurity governance, risk management, or compliance Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and regulations, particularly NIST standards and HIPAA requirements Experience participating in security audits, risk assessments, or compliance reviews Understanding of security technologies, including encryption, firewalls, and SIEM platforms
